1 If a publication has an index or table of contents (TOC), that TOC or index should also be useful as a potential controlled vocabulary for any similar publication.
2 I am quite sure the above projects each had an index -- the indices were mostly done by simply thinking about the subject -- with the exception of #16 whereby the Manufacturers were selected by magazine ads and lists of manufacturers and the products were selected from the manufacturers’ catalogs.
3 In light of all the above, I should be able to easily put together a controlled vocabulary for almost any purpose.
