FOUR GREAT BOOKS (RECOMMENDED BY M. CARBONE)

1. ON ECONOMICS ---“Progress and Poverty” . An inquiry into the cause of industrial depressions and of the increase of want with increase of wealth... The Remedy. by Henry George ... This book set the stage for the drift toward socialism and communism in the early 1900's. It is a powerful book. Progress and Poverty -- An important book on economics. It basically explains why poverty is virtually unknown in primitive societies but widespread wherever there is great wealth.
2. ON PHILOSOPHY --“Inner Tennis: Playing the Game” by Tim Gallwey -- a great book of philosophy.
3. ON THE CREATION OF MONEY -- "A Primer on Money" -- US Government Printing Office -- by U.S. Congressmen Wright Patman (Texas) -- the only book I ever found that explains truthfully how the money supply works. No longer in print. It is very hard to find a copy.

• Speech to Congress by Wright Patman, introducing the "Primer on Money" This speech basically covers the same ground as the above-mentioned "Primer ...". It is easier to understand than the "Primer ...". It also has the advantage of being in .html.
• "Money Facts -- 169 Questions and Answers on Money" -- A Supplement to the "Primer on Money". This 30 page report explains in relatively plain English what the "Primer ... " is about. An average person should be able to understand this report. If you read only one of these reports -- this should be it.

4. ON SELLING -- “How I Made a Million Dollars in Mail Order” by E. Joseph Cossman. By far, the best business book of its kind.
