Finding stuff on-line at (or linkable from) the Library Of Congress

  1. Go to http://www.loc.gov/about/sitemap -- you will be at the Site Map
  2. Under "Resources for Researchers", click on "Virtual Programs, Services".
  3. Under "Services", click on "Virtual Reference Shelf". (direct link << http://www.loc.gov/rr/askalib/virtualref.html >> )
  4. Click on any subject on the page ( there are about 400 subjects). You will get to a page full of links to internet-information on that subject.
  5. Click on the link that seems most likely to get to the information you want.
  6. Repeat #4 and #5 until you find what you want.
  • The above is a sample search string that will find internet sources of information.
  • You can design your own search strings for anything on ( or linkable from,) The Library Of Congress website.
