Place 1/2 cup (150 ml) of flour and a large spoonful of salt in a
bowl. The salt will help to keep the
paste from going moldy. Add 1 cup (250 ml)
of warm water.

Strips of newsprint and liquid starch. Dip the paper in the starch
and remove excess.

Ross Art Paste. It comes in powder form and you mix it with water.
It makes a clear gel. It doesn't
get moldy -- keeps a long time. It's about $2.50 a box
in teacher supply or art stores.

I have used wheat paste for "light to medium weight." It's main
purpose is a paste for hanging wall
paper. It works extremely well!! Just follow
the directions on the back of the box (it is in a powder form).

Plastercast rolls from Dick Blick's Catalog. The plaster is already

it lasts forever !!!

1 cup water -- 1/4 cup flour -- 5 cups lightly boiling water.

is thin and runny. Stir this
mixture into the lightly boiling water. Gently boil and stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
Cool before using.
-
1/2 cup all-purpose flour -- 2 cups cold water -- 2 cups boiling
water -- 3 tbsp. sugar. Mix together flour
and cold water in a bowl. Add this mixture to the
boiling
water and allow it to return to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar. As the mixture cools it will
thicken as it does.

You can also just make a quicky paste by putting flour in a bowl and
adding water until you have kind
of a soupy paste.
-
Try using powdered wall paper adhesive (non-pourous) mixed with
water. It
comes in milk carton type containers and you can find it anywhere wallpaper is
sold.

This site
has a formula. You can use any paper -- just tear into strips and create layers --
strong paper
works best -- brown kraft (paper bags) are good. Visit: http://www.kinderart.com/kitchen/machepulp.htm
