A letter from Carole Ferrari Fisher (10/10/03)
The following is not all from my thoughts alone. I picked bits and pieces from mail that I have received, deleted much, added some of my own. Use what you will.
I am a Republican and have never been more ashamed of my party.
Bush's lies have resulted in the deaths of thousands. Rumsfield refers to the number of casualities as "acceptable losses". How acceptable is this to one who sees their child coming home in a body bag?
Why are there people in his administration who are advisors to Israel? Where is their loyalty? A man cannot serve two masters. Why are contracts being awarded to cronies without a bidding process? Why is the vice president still receiving a million dollars a year from a company getting contracts, and why did he not reveal that on his income statement? Why has he not been chastised for filing a fraudulent statement of income? Why is the Supreme Court allowing changes to the Constitution without a vote on an amendment change? Why are they who are related to the administration involved in companies who make a profit from decisions Bush makes?
There is not one thing this administration has been involved in that is not either illegal, immoral, unethical or self-serving. Anyone who can't see the corruption either has their eyes closed, their mind closed or both because it has never been more arrogantly blatant.
History will treat the period of this administration as the darkest time in the history of America and the people in the White House as the arch enemies of democracy and vile criminals incapable of telling the truth.
Those who support them are simply giving them a license to steal. Anyone who allows them to continue the rape, looting and pillaging of America's national forests, environment and the social security fund is unpatriotic and un-American.
